Established in 1982, ACCESS is a full service document and data storage facility. Providing secure data management services for Vancouver Island and British Columbia.
The main ACCESS Vault is an environmentally controlled freestanding structure designed specifically for secure environmental storage of computer media, microforms and other vital records. This means incorporating such measures as environmental controls with temperatures averaging 65 F. +/- 5 F. and humidity maintained at 45% +/- 10%.
The Vault's construction is designed to withstand a seismic shock up to 8.5, comprising concrete block, poured concrete and reinforced with 1" Rebar steel. The entrance is an airtight 2,000lb steel Vault door opened by an internal combination lock.
The Vault has an independent security system monitored on a 24 x 7 basis by an outside monitoring service; this encompasses not only intrusion and fire but also environmental conditions. It is supported by digital video and ACCESS general security systems.
The Vault has a four-hour fire rating with fire suppression performed by Halon 1301.
All data are housed in Gemtrac enclosed storage units thereby enhancing environmental standards and security.
ACCESS secondary Vaults accomodate non-tape vital records and other items of value. Fire suppression is FM200.
